Our Promise to Always Put Patients First

Celgene realises our mission of improving the lives of patients around the world through our pioneering patient access programmes, significant investment in clinical studies, support for continuing medical education and partnerships with charities that share our commitment to patients.

Patient access programmes

At Celgene, we believe that a commitment to medical progress must go hand-in-hand with a corresponding promise to ensure that patients who can benefit from our discoveries have the opportunity to do so. Celgene Australia/New Zealand are proud that we have provided Celgene products on our access programmes for over 1000 patients who had very limited or no other treatment options, an ongoing commitment and support to the Australian community exceeding many millions of dollars.

Commitment to patients through local R&D, clinical studies and medical education

Celgene invests significant resources into the research and development of disease altering therapies for cancer and other serious immune-inflammatory conditions.

Over the last 10 years Celgene has been a committed supporter of the local haematology community. We have worked closely with numerous investigators to promote medical research in Australia by supporting over 30 investigator-led studies in various haematological malignancies including multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, acute myeloid leukaemia, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, follicular lymphoma, peripheral T-cell lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Approximately 1500 patients with haematological malignancies who have limited treatment options have been able to participate in these local investigator initiated trials.

From an Inflammation and Immunology perspective, Australian and New Zealand sites have contributed a significant number of local patients to our global phase 3 programs in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.  In addition to Dermatology and Rheumatology, we are also grateful to the Gastroenterology community for their involvement with a number of key trials.

Celgene believes our local investigators are working at highest global standards and is committed to continuing to support our investigators and their clinical and translational research, focusing on areas with high unmet medical need.

Support for Patient Groups

Across Australia, Celgene provides support to organisations and initiatives that make a positive impact on our patients, our communities and our world, today and for years to come.
